On 8 June 2020 residents of 13 Atkins Square received letters warning of a fire risk to the block. Other blocks in the new builds around Pembury Circus / Atkins Square may also be at risk due to the cladding materials used.
On 10 June 2020 the Residents’ Association wrote to all residents of 13 Atkins Square inviting them to join the Residents Association, and to participate in organising a meeting to discuss fire safety, and the cost of remedial works.
The Residents’ Association strongly encourages other residents of the Pembury Estate to get in touch if they have concerns about fire safety, including relating to the cladding material used on their block.
