You will be aware that our service charges have gone up considerably. The Pembury Estate Residents’ Association (PERA) has asked Peabody for a meeting regarding service charges with the relevant people at Peabody.
PERA encourages all residents to submit queries/complaints to Peabody regarding their individual complaints about the increases. PERA would like the meeting with Peabody to be about wider issues with service charges across the estate. PERA has been asked to put together an agenda to ensure the correct people attend the meeting. The PERA meeting last night identified the following items for an agenda:
- Method of procurement for contracts
- Apportionment schedule – how the charges are apportioned to properties
- Buildings insurance – how it is calculated, claims experience and the effects on premiums
- Controls/oversights of amounts charged in contracts
